For a fourth consecutive year, Britten House swept the board the annual End of Year Celebration Assembly, holding on to trophies for House with the ‘Best Attendance’, the ‘Highest Number of Vivos’, the ‘House Competition Winner’; and the overall ‘House of the Year’.
Congratulations to Britten students and Mrs Graf, Head of House, who has carried on where Mr Clarke left off. Mrs Graf handled the pressure brilliantly and, like Sir Alex Ferguson before her, motivated her team to demoralise the opponents. All that was left for Mr Hicks to ask of all Elgarians, Purcellians and Sullivanites to “feel the pain” in order to motivate to go again with resilience in September.
A special mention must, however, go to Mr Freeman’s Elgar who pushed Britten as hard as they had ever been pushed before and to Purcell who retained the honour of winning Sports Day.
